"ABBEMA (Mlle) MATIN D'AVRIL".
It is on heavy stock paper, has nice wide margins for framing and is
over 109 years old. The gorgeous picture was in the SALON OF 1894 This
gravure was made after a painting done by the artist LOUISE ABBEMA. Overall
measurements, including the border are 12"W X 8 1/4"H The image is 6
1/8"W X 4 3/4"H. [...] PHOTOGRAVURE is an intaglio printing process in which the image has been placed on the plate by photographic means using carbon tissue. (Intaglio is a printing technique in which paper is pushed into depressed or recessed lines made in a metal plate and filled with ink. The image can be made on the plate by acid or a sharp tool using one of the following techniques, etching, engraving, aquatint, messotint or drypoint). condition ... reverse side is blank! A photogravure print based on the original
painting by a French artist Madame Abbema, who exhibited it at the 1894
