D'AVRIL".     It is on heavy stock paper, has nice wide margins for framing 
and is over     109 years old. The gorgeous picture was in the SALON OF 1894 
This gravure     was made after a painting done by the artist LOUISE ABBEMA. 
Overall measurements,     including the border are 12"W X 8 1/4"H The image 
is 6 1/8"W X 4 3/4"H.   [...] PHOTOGRAVURE is an intaglio printing process in which the image has been placed on the plate by photographic means using carbon tissue. (Intaglio is a printing technique in which paper is pushed into depressed or recessed lines made in a metal plate and filled with ink. The image can be made on the plate by acid or a sharp tool using one of the following techniques, etching, engraving, aquatint, messotint or drypoint).
